7 Brew Coffee eyes San Jose site as part of expansion into California

SAN JOSE — 7 Brew Coffee is eyeing a San Jose location for a new beverage shop in what is poised to be the company s first site in the Bay Area s largest city. The coffee and beverage chain has proposed the development of a store in a section of a shopping center near the intersection of Interstate 680 and McKee Road in East San Jose, city planning documents show. The 7 Brew Coffee entry into San Jose arrives at a time when Dutch Bros has floated plans for multiple coffee shop locations that would mark that company s initial foray into the same market. Arkansas-based 7 Brew is seeking city approval for a drive-through beverage restaurant that would be located on a section of 375 North Capitol Ave. in San Jose, the city filing shows. The coffee outlet is expected to total just under 1,500 square feet, according to the public planning documents.
