What South Dakota State had to say after UND football's upset of No. 1

GRAND FORKS — UND stunned top-ranked South Dakota State on Saturday at the Alerus Center, jumping out to a 21-0 lead and hanging on for a 21-10 win. There will be a new No. 1 next week, as SDSU falls to 5-2, 5-1 against the FCS and 2-1 in the Valley. The Jacks faltered in all three phases of the game. While they outgained UND, they were outplayed pretty much for the duration. Here's what head coach Dan Jackson, captain and tackle Quinten Christensen and safety Dontay Johnson had to say outside the locker room after the game. Quinten Christensen What happened out there? "We beat ourselves. I mean, you guys watched the game. Missed assignments, didn't make the plays when they were there — mistakes on both sides. I think we need to go back to the drawing board. Whether someone played good or bad there's probably six plays in that game where it all went wrong. We made too many mistakes to deserve to win that game." Do you think you guys were ready to play?
